NHRF updates on business support at fourteenth AGM Published on 6th November 2020

The North Highland Regeneration Fund today (6 November) held its fourteenth Annual General Meeting, at which attendees heard of the continued support that the Fund has to offer businesses in the North Highlands.

As has been the case for many organisations this year, the AGM was the first in the Fund’s history to be held virtually. The Fund’s Chairman, Lord Thurso, updated attendees on the support that the Fund has offered to both existing and new clients during this difficult and turbulent period. Against a background of banks restricting new accounts and refusing to lend to new business customers, he noted that the Fund has this year continued to issue new loans to support both business expansion and business startup within the region.

Lord Thurso noted to attendees that the Fund still has money to invest and is actively seeking new applications. Over its history, the Fund has supported a wide range of businesses across all sectors and welcomes enquiries from businesses in the North Highlands with ambitions for growth.

The meeting saw the Fund welcome a new Board member, Kirsty Gordon, while saying goodbye to David Flear and Derrick Milnes. Lord Thurso recognised the many years of valued support that David and Derrick have given to the Fund, and welcomed the fresh perspective and expertise that Kirsty will bring.

Lord Thurso emphasised that the Fund remains committed to supporting businesses in the North Highlands through loans at this difficult time, and will continue to do so for as long as the COVID-19 pandemic lasts.

Businesses wishing to make an enquiry about the support available from the Fund should contact the Managing Agent on enquiries@nhrf.co.uk or by calling 01847 500103.
